Bill said so.

I have made a few comments about the latest hair style for men known as man-buns. I think they look ridiculous and I dislike them.
Then, I felt bad because really, it's only hair and who cares, and who am I to be judgemental about some strangers hair anyhow?
On one hand I feel I should be able to say how much a certain style irks me (mens pants hanging down around their knees is a major one) and on the other hand, I like to think that people should be able to do what they want with their hair and their clothes and it's none of my business.
And mostly, I don't  care. And then I feel guilty when something strikes me as ridiculous and I want to make a statement. Rock and a hard place.

Meanwhile, I'm reading the new Bill Bryson book, "The Road to Little Dribbling" and chapter 12 starts like this:

"For some time, I have believed that everyone should be allowed to have a dozen or so things that they  dislike without having to justify or explain to anyone why they don't like them. Reflex Loathings, I call them."

And then he goes on to list his Loathings.

What an awesome concept. My guilt has vanished. I can say, without having to justify my feelings, that man-buns and the men who wear them annoy the shit right out of me. All of them.
Every. Single. One.

And now I'm pretty excited to come up with a few more things that I can publicly scoff at at and feel no shame.  I love you, Bill Bryson.
