Part 9 Walking through Old Havana

There are still quite a few families who have a "coming out" so to speak, for their daughters. Needless to say it's only for the wealthy, and even they save for years and years to do it up right. It's for the 15th birthday, and these 2 girls were having their celebrations in Old Havana. Linoska asked the parents if I could take a picture. Linoska has a young daughter and said that she will never be able to afford something like this, very few Cubans can.

The schools are in regular buildings, for example this one was upstairs in what seemed to be a regular apartment building. Obviously there is no gymnasium up there, so the kids come out into the square for their exercise class.

The more things change the more some things stay the same...such as the gap between the rich and the poor.

Really good pictures, the dresses are beautiful!
