Part 9. Walking through Old Havana

The book stalls are in The Plaza de Armas, another 16th century square in Old Havana. In the 1600's, this was the core of the administrative and military life. Now it is full of restaurants, book sellers and museums. A very colourful and relaxing area. The books are mostly from the 1940's and 50's and tourists are not allowed to take home anything over 50 years old, so I only browsed.

The streets are filled with bougainvillea, so pretty. Below is a building that is in the process of being renovated.

Did you get an "authentic Cuban" t-shirt of CHE??? I can remember back in the late 60's we were wearing them in the streets of Vancouver...young, idealistists, outraged, protesting "the system" (seems WE changed, the sysem didn't!)...
