India Day 9 Final Hotel.

Hotel #10 was The Desert Resort in Mandawa.

It was another "wow" place. We drove forever to get here, along a road that was most assuredly not a freeway. It was barely a goat path. The upside was, we all got a free Indian Massage, and by that you know I mean the bumpy road did a number on backs and spines.

This was the highway. Wide enough for one, so the polite thing to do when approaching another vehicle is to veer wildly off the asphalt with just the tires on one side so that everyone receives an equally jarring ride. And this was the smooth part with no potholes and heaves. Oi, my aching back.

But let me tell you, when we reached the resort, it was worth every loose tooth in my head.
It looked like a walled city from the front, all made of adobe, adorned with fresh whitewash designs.

The lobby. You can see that the "furniture" is made of adobe also, and built into the structure.

The doors to our room were massive, made to keep elephants out I think, they weighed a ton and had a single giant key. We just left them open and unlocked most of the time.

Our room had three areas to it, as well as an extremely modern bathroom. Bedroom (obviously)

Little area for doing your hair and whatnot, plus the closet.

Our own awesome little sitting area with a couch made of mud, as we're the bed frames.

Little lit up alcoves everywhere, gave it a very calm atmosphere.

A strangely modern bathroom in our room. It was massive, the shower was around this corner. I think the bathroom was bigger than the whole room.

Little twisty fairy tale paths to the different cottages.

An astounding buffet.

This place was incredible, probably my favorite.

Beautiful courtyard where dancing under the stars took place....more about that later.

So, now that I've gotten the hotels written down and out of the way, I'll get back to the day by day journal of things I saw, and did and ate.
