Vegas Day Two

Another sunny day! Luckily we just missed the days of +30 to 35 that they suffered last week. Our temps are a balmy mid to high 20’s. Just right for walking around.

This morning Steven and I figured we should walk over to the T-Mobile arena to get our tickets for the pre-season game on Wednesday. We had no idea where it was, other than “right next door”, but as you know a Vegas “next door” is like a 1/2 hr hike in any other city. Nothing is in a straight line or simply “down the block”.

We went outside, turned left and saw this piece of art called Dancing Bliss (sidenote: she lit up and sparkled at night....glorious!) and to my surprise, there was the arena...right there! See it by her hand? YAY!

Surprised that no one was there, one lonely window had an open sign. Turns out the box office isn't open on days when there is no event. Nuts. Oh well, we will try again tomorrow.

We headed back to the breakfast meeting place, and then headed in the other direction from yesterday, hitting up the Luxor, MGM, Mandalay Bay and The Excalibur where we picked up our tickets for The Tournament of Kings that Steven and I were going to later that night.

For those who don’t know, the Tournament of Kings is a dinner and show presentation with a medieval good & evil theme. There are Kings and Czars, knights and serfs, wenches and dancing girls, and horses galore. Not to mention a wizard and a dragon. Lots of fireworks and pyrotechnic things. Everyone is served the same meal, and one is urged to bang your tankard of ale (in my case pop because I don’t day drin k at all....boring me)  Everyone is served the same meal, starting with tomato soup, then a whole tiny chicken, roasted potatoes, veggies and a bun, with an apple strudel for dessert. You eat with your hands, and Steven was hoping to throw his bones on the floor, but alas; t’was not to be.

It was a lot of fun, with much shouting of “Huzzah!”and “ Boooo”. I had always been interested in seeing the show, but i thought maybe it was old and tired, but it didn’t disappoint at all. They know how to keep up with the times.

After that we found our group again, hung out in our hotel, did a bit of gambling and were in bed by midnight-ish once again.
